Probably the loveliest aspect of our area is the TRONCAIS FORESTS, said to be the oldest and largest oak forests in Europe. There are lakes, some with sandy beaches, where you can picnic and swim.

For the more energetic; you can walk, run or cycle around these lovely forests, taking in the wildlife etc, on the way. And of course there is always fishing...

ETANG DE GOULE, this lake has many things on offer, for example boat hire, sailing lessons, snack bar, pedalows, sandy beaches where you can swim (during the summer they have a life guard on duty)

All the local villages have something to offer you. For example LURCY LEVIS (5 km) can supply most of your needs, an Atac supermarket, Doctor, Dentist, Pharmacie, Post Office, Bank, Boulangerie's, Restaurants, Bars and most importantly a Cave. On Mondays there is a small market.

SANCOINS (10 km) is a considerably larger town, having larger supermarkets and a very large open air market on Wednesday mornings, well worth a visit.

Approximately 40 mins drive away are 3 large towns: MOULINS, NEVERS and BOURGES, all of which have historical town centres and Carrefours etc for everything you may like to take home.

Just south of MOULINS there is a large THEME PARK AND ZOO called LE PAL. Great fun for all the family. CANOEING is also possible from Moulins on the river Allier.
